I will share some analysis of the island as my assignment of
my research paper class.
First of all, I will introduce the scene where the main
character Lincoln Six Echo discusses his nightmare with the CEO of the company.
They sit face to face in the office and keep some distance to each other.
Lincoln sits politely, which shows the audience how much the CEO has a strong
power in the situation. Also, Lincoln wears white clothes which reminds of purity
and innocence. On the other hand, the CEO wears a black suite that looks like
an evil, which the audience finds out later. If I watched this movie in the theater,
I couldn’t have realized these little details. Also, Lincoln questions a lot in
the scene which lead himself to find out the truth later. This scene may help
my paper to show that the company treat clones in a deceptive way, which is not
ethical.
In addition, I picked the scene which describes Lincolns’
doubt about the island in the elevator. There are many clones in the elevator
and listen to an announcement of the islands’ prize. He is the only one who
crosses his arms and doesn’t look at the screen. This shows the audience that
he wonders if the announcement is true and asks himself the questions. The scene
describes that he is a rebel with the lottery for the island and is ambitious
and non-conforming person. His behavior seems determined to find out about the
island. This scene allows my paper to explain how the company manipulates
clones by making a fantasy then kills clones to take their organs, which poses
my readers a question: should clones should be considered as human beings or
products?
